We work with children to break tasks down into small achievable steps. This stops them from feeling overwhelmed by the task and not knowing where to start. These could be simple tasks such as managing daily homework, doing an assignment or organising their timetables.

Early diagnosis and intervention can greatly improve outcomes for people with autism. One primary mode of intervention is occupational therapy (OT) for autism, which can play a unique role in helping individuals with ASD live more fully and independently.

An OT cannot diagnose ASD. This can only be done by a psychologist or a doctor. An OT cannot make any diagnosis; they can describe function and speak about development.

The most basic difference between physical therapy and occupational therapy is that a PT focuses on improving the patient's ability to move their body whereas an OT focuses on improving the patient's ability to perform activities of daily living.
